Zaha Hadid Architects is seeking a senior operations manager to join its team in London.
Reporting to: directors
Hours: 10.00 to 19.00
Purpose of role: to work closely with the sales, design and development team offering logistical support
Location of role: London
Key relationships:
Internal: directors, design team, sales team and product development team
External: 3PL partners, suppliers and customers.
Personal skills and experience required:
- ninimum of four years experience. Ideally from logistics within the furniture, design or luxury products industry
- team player – build relationships with other internal and external teams and functions
- a good understanding of supply chain management processes
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and negotiation abilities
- complex planning and problem-solving skills
- analytical thinking
- a strong positive focus on customer care
- great organisation and attention to detail
- the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team
- strong IT Skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel as well as willingness to adapt to various other software/systems
- innovation and creativity: as our business grows it is vital to find simple solutions to complex tasks
Areas of responsibility:
- establish and maintain key working relationships with 3PL partners, suppliers and customers
- negotiating and arranging freight options for inbound/outbound goods, ensuring the flow of merchandise from one point to the other is smooth
- liaise with the 3PL with regards to customer’s special labelling, packaging and delivery requirements as specified in routing guides
- managing inventory integrity across multiple sites, including scheduled stocktakes and cycle counting activities
- collating documentation and information to arrange shipments/collections (booking forms, dimensions, certificates and invoices) as well as facilitating transfer of information to logistics partners
- responsible for maintaining the database in relation to dispatch of product (export documentation) including regular tariff classifications
- providing order status updates to clients, as well as handling investigations related to issues with dispatched orders
- updating and maintaining various systems with up-to-date information
- to prepare regular analysis of sales and product performance for internal distribution
- regular meetings with business partners to ensure KPI’s are being met, as well as rate negotiations
- occasional warehouse and other administrative duties/re-works needed as deemed necessary by the business
- ensure time-sensitive tasks are completed within set deadlines & budgetary requirements
